Squaw Valley Vacation

We took our annual trek up to Lake Tahoe for a family ski vacation from March 9-12. Jill grew up skiing with her family and wanted to pass that along to her family, and this year it finally came to pass. The girls (8 and 6 as of this writing) have been taking lessons for several years now, and this trip we finally skied together as a family. Both girls are excellent skiers and Hannah reminds me of myself at about the same age. We both loved to navigate obstacle courses (aka "backwoods skiing"). Took me back a few years.....okay, a LOT of years.

For the second year, Hannah played on a YMCA basketball team. This year she played on an all-girls team. Her team was undefeated this season and both Hannah and her parents began to learn the strategy and rules of the game. Hannah was recognized for most improved defense by her coach.

Three Best Friends Boogie Boarding at Carmel Beach!

Hannah and her buddies, Briet and Megan, take to boogie boarding in the cold northern California ocean on a hot, Labor Day weekend. It's pictures like these that remind me they're growing up way too fast....

Our Mesa Hikes

It has become a ritual now to call a few families and hike up to the mesa in Garland Park on weekends. The kids grab a bucket and nets to catch minnows and the dogs chase each other and their balls. This photo of Sarah was taken on our Labor Day hike.

Three Sisters Sing

Jill, Lisa and Jackie perform the adult theme song for Summer 2008, an effort to annoy Big Brother Jay as we used to do back when we were young kids riding in the back of a station wagon toward a snow skiing vacation. Somehow the simple effort to annoy our big brother turned into an entire theatrical production, props and all.
